Types of Incontinence
Stress incontinence can occur because of a weak pelvic floor or a deficient urethral sphincter. This weakness causes the bladder to leak during exercise, coughing, sneezing, laughing, or any body movement that puts pressure on the bladder. This is common after childbirth and menopause in women while prostate cancer treatment can trigger it in men

Urge incontinence is associated with an overactive Bladder (OAB). Spontaneous bladder spasms and contractions result in the frequent and sudden need to urinate. Frequent, strong, and sudden urges happen with not enough time to make it to the bathroom.
Mixed incontinence is a combination of stress incontinence and overactive bladder symptoms.

Overflow incontinence results in the feeling of a full bladder. One fails to sense a full bladder because of nerve damage and thus does not empty the bladder. Constant dribbling of urine is a frequent symptom. There is increased frequency and urgency to urinate.
Functional incontinence occurs when the urinary system may work well, but factors outside the urinary tract such as immobility or cognitive impairment, can prevent a person from getting to a bathroom in time.

Bladder Control Pads provide the best protection for women with light bladder leakage. Pads come in light, moderate, maximum, and ultimate absorbency options for optimal absorbency.

Male Guards are specifically designed to protect men against light leakage so they can feel fresh and comfortable every day. The guard should be placed inside briefs, never boxers, and secured with the attached adhesive strip. Once secured, men can go on with their day feeling clean and worry-free.

Briefs are designed for those that have persistent leakage and can’t get to the bathroom. Wearers will stay fresh and dry at all times, promoting comfort and healthy skin.

Prevail Smaller-sized briefs are designed with maximum leakage protection with heavy absorbency.
Daily underwear is designed for both men and women. They provide leakage protection for moderate bladder leakage while still being comfortable.

Tena Classic Protective Underwear is designed for comfort and convenience with moderate absorbency.
Underpads are designed to provide extra protection against leaks for beds, chairs, and other surfaces. They add an additional layer of security, particularly for those with heavy leakage. Underpads come in a range of sizes and absorbencies to meet your personal needs.
Pant liners are designed for men and women. Pant liners are a two-part system with a full-length adhesive strip that secures the product in the wearer’s underwear for leakage protection.

Disposable wash clothes are engineered to clean and refresh the skin following leaks or product changes. Each wipe is lotion enriched and contains Vitamin E and Aloe to soothe and moisturize as it cleanses the skin.

Do Medicare Advantage or Medicare Replacement plans pay for incontinence supplies?
Some Medicare Advantage plans may offer coverage for incontinence supplies, but it varies by plan. It’s important to check with your specific plan to see what is covered and what costs you may be responsible for. This means that Medicare Advantage plans may cover incontinence supplies for qualified plan beneficiaries.
