Determining Slope
Ramps come in a variety of lengths to accommodate the desired slope. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recommends a ramp have 12 inches of length for every 1 inch of height. A 1:12 Slope works for most strong unassisted manual chair users, although they may still need assistance.
